Getting Started...

 We have officially kicked off using our new curriculum.  The kiddos did a great job listening and engaging in the activities this morning.  We practiced prewriting skills and listening skills that they will use to learn to read and write.  

Our first unit is about Nursery Rhymes.  We learned two nursery rhymes today then acted them out. 

For math, we practiced our counting skills with a game of Gotcha!  In this game, the students had to spot my mistakes when I was counting blocks and tell me which number I forgot.  Then we practiced one to one correspondence by counting Unifix cubes into the double digit teen numbers. 

We talked a little bit about the weather last week and have already started doing weather observations.  Today we asked ourselves "what are our ideas about weather?"  We followed our discussion by drawing our ideas about weather in our science journals.
