This week...
What have we been up to this week?
The kindergarten students have been learning so much this week! We have been practicing our handwriting skills and learning about diagonal, horizontal, and vertical lines. We are still talking about discriminating left and right. We've started segmenting compound words. Additionally, our fine motor skills are getting stronger through the use of clay in our classroom.
In math, we learned about repeating patterns and growing patterns using our pattern blocks. The kiddos enjoyed playing memory match using number and dot cards and playing tap it with dot cards.
In social studies, we've been reading about relatives and different kinds of families. We read The Relatives Came together, and talking about relatives that live far away that we see a few times a year.
We have worked on sequencing events that happened in our nursery rhymes and fables. We introduced fables to the kiddos and talked about how they teach us a lesson or the moral of the story.
