Circles and 10 Frames
This week in math, we’ve been diving into the world of shapes, with a special focus on circles. We discussed how circles are unique because they are round and don’t have any straight lines or angles. Students had fun searching around the classroom for objects that had circular shapes. They then shared their discoveries with the class and explained why they chose each item.
Building Number Sense with Ten Frames
We’ve also been revisiting ten frames as part of our math learning. The students are practicing how to represent numbers using the ten frame and exploring the different ways a number can be shown. We've been focusing on recognizing how many circles are on the ten frame without counting each one — a skill called subitizing. It's helping us strengthen our number sense and build quick recognition of number patterns.
