Dot Day

In celebration of Dot Day, inspired by Peter H. Reynolds' book The Dot, our kindergarteners painted their own unique dots on coffee filters. The story is about a young girl named Vashti, who learns to believe in herself after being encouraged to "just make a mark and see where it takes you." This simple message helps children understand that creativity begins with courage and self-expression. Activities like Dot Day encourage kindergarteners to take creative risks, build confidence, and understand that every mark they make has value.
