Sorting Skills

One of our math activities called for the kindergarten students to sort items by their attributes.  We started this activity by comparing crayons from different brands and different colors.  We discussed what an attribute is and how to sort items into groups by their attributes. 

The children took turns sorting different items at each table.  Then, we talked about how we sorted each item.  The children sorted the pompoms into color or color groups.  The coins were sorted by size or color.  Lastly, the pattern shapes were sorted by shape or color.
