STEM using K'nex

This week the Kindergarteners explored K'nex builders!  They were tasked with sorting, connecting, and building.  First they were able to categorize the pieces by size and color, then they were asked to build a ramp.  They were given instructions to follow and asked "what happens when you put the ball at the top of the ramp and let go?"  We explored topics like force and motion and the kindergarteners described what happened to the ball.  They were then able to build their own creations with the K'nex. 

We revisited the activity later in the week and tasked them with making a swing using the instructions on the card.  The figured out how to connect the pieces differently and make the ball go back and forth on the swing.
