Counting to Measure Distance

In Everyday Math, we experimented with counting to measure distance.  Children were tasked with counting as they crossed the classroom while running, tip toeing, and hopping.  

After each student crossed the room, they filled out the data sheet in their math books.  We compared how long each method took and they circled the method that took the shortest amount of time.
