Sentence Work

In Kindergarten, we practice identifying basic sentence structure.  We focus on how sentences start with an uppercase letter, they have punctuation at the end, and they have a what and a what is happening.  We practiced our sentence work with dry erase sentences and magnet sentences. 

We followed this exercise with some independent reading of some new beginner readers.  Students were able to blend and read some of the words in these books.
