Read Across America Week-Day 1
To celebrate Read Across America Week, the kindergarteners enjoyed a read aloud of the book called The World Needs Who You Were Made to Be written by Joanna Gaines and illustrated by Julianna Swaney. In the book, children are celebrated for the way they think, create, and work together. Children with different ways of thinking and different abilities are celebrated for being who they are. The characters create hot air balloons that are uniquely theirs and the book ends by highlighting how beautiful the sky looks when filled with different hot air balloons. The children were encouraged to celebrate how they think differently and what they want to be when they grow up. Each child wrote what they want to be and drew a picture of their chosen profession.
Talia is going to be a rockstar singer.
Josephine is going to be a vet.
Solly is going to be an astronaut.
